What is The Helipad Project?

The Helipad Project started as a Girl Scout Gold Award project to provide a suitable landing zone on a shoestring budget for medevac helicopters in a rural community. Quick access to emergency medical care saves lives. Helipads can be a key component of that for those that live far from a trauma center. Our mission is to spread awareness and information with the hope every community in need is able to install a helipad as economically and easily as possible.

We provide information on replicating standard size helipads on paved surfaces in areas with limited medical facilities. By facilitating these initiatives, we aim to create a safer and more efficient medical transport system in remote regions, ultimately saving lives.
